Those impressive blooms consist of bicolour, red-and-creamy-white petals that open widely on sunny days. The charm of this dwarf variety is complemented by its foliage. Long, fairly wide, grey-green leaves are covered with a clearly visible pattern. The award-winning Czaar Peter tulip is predestined for rock and alpine gardens, and borders. It will also please the eye in pots, bowls, and baskets. This low-growing flower is a popular choice for urban green spaces.
Autumn is the right time to plant tulip bulbs. Plan this activity for the end of September and October to enjoy a cheerful garden in spring. Plant the bulbs at a bright spot that should preferably be sunny and sheltered from the wind. Provide tulips with a light, permeable soil. Tulips, in general, do not require much grower's attention. You only need to make sure that the soil remains moderately moist and has a balanced nutrient content.
