Hold me close and tell me how you feel
Tell me love is real

Words of love you whisper soft and true
Darling, I love you

Let me hear you say the words I long to hear
Darling, when you're near
[Verse 2]
Words of love you whisper soft and true
Darling, I love you
About
This is a cover of “Words of Love” by the late Buddy Holly, originally released in February 1958—the same year that The Quarrymen formed back in Liverpool.
John Lennon was an avid fan of Buddy’s music. Holly’s band name, The Crickets, inspired the group’s transition from “The Quarrymen” to “The Silver Beetles,” and eventually simply “The Beatles”—although, history attributes credit for this idea to their original bassist, Stuart Sutcliffe.
