Katalpa Kodex

We are the modern artists refuge: A place where artists across mediums and styles will distill their Individual creative directions into a unique amalgamation of art and magic. Katalpa combines many influences across the different subcultures of the universe to present to you the coolest wearable and ethereal art our galaxy has to offer. United by a shared love of music, mindfulness, and fun Katalpa hopes to establish a like minded community of artists and friends.

All of Katalpa’s pieces are handmade in our studio. All plops are limited release and not going to be reprinted on mass scale, once a piece is gone it's gone. Similarly all fabric pieces are uniquely dyed art pieces which result in each shirt being a unique artistic expression. Expect beautiful variances and uniquities in your pieces, no katalpa dye is ever the same as the last. We dye using a process relying heavily on intuition and mindfulness in order to make each piece as special and inspiring as the next. Keep an eye out for one off creations and special surprise plops.

Over the course of four years, what began as a seed in our owner's mind grew into a huge tree. The concept for Katalpa was sown in 2019 whilst on a stroll through Pompeii, and more broadly, all of Europe. Escorted by a most remarkable band from Vermont on endless solitary walks through awe inspiring settings our owner operator formed our vision. A brand owned and operated by artists that blends the principles of genuine expression, mindfulness, and joy. 

Who knew beautiful architecture, art, music and a lot of alone time gives a creative plenty of time to think. 

The following few years were ones of trial and error and huge growth, fostered by the always present pursuit of unique experience and joy. Now coming into a new season creatively, Katalpa is blossoming akin to our namesake flower, bright, verdant and free.
