Then why not consider growing sea holly flowers (Eryngium). Sea hollies can provide unique interest with their spiny-toothed leaves and clusters of teasel-like blossoms. They also offer versatility with their wide range of growing conditions and various uses in the garden. Growing Eryngium plants is easy. All types will thrive in full sun and moist soil with good drainage. In fact, they actually prefer sandy soil. The long taproot, however, allows the plant to tolerate poor soil conditions and drought. Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The description says customer will get 2 PRIMARY roots but what I got was one less than 2 inches long with thickness of a very slender pinkie it appeared to be viable enough with a couple of secondary roots still attached (no root hairs) so I planted it and now waiting to see if it an grow a stalk, but the second one a total disaster, as thin as a light gauge electrical wire, almost impossible to tell it is a root, dry, without any secondary roots or root hairs, although I planted it but I don’t think it is viable enough to become a plant, on top of everything else I packaging is also a disappointment a very thin folded & stapled plastic bag with a little bit of some dried up so called SOIL and nothing else to protect and prevent secondary roots or the root hairs from drying out and breaking off while in transit thus making it difficult if not impossible to grow these roots to a plant.
Please pay attention to the description, not the picture. These arrive as dried roots, not live plants. I soaked mine in water for 24 hours and then planted, and . . . Weeks later, nothing. Fairly certain what I got were dead roots. I don't think the description promises live roots, so shame on me
