Rick Owens is a fashion designer from Porterville. He’s known for his glunge aesthetic, a combination of grunge and glamour.
Those two styles are evident in his latest collection, which was shown off Thursday in Paris. Some of the pieces look slightly normal while others looked like duct-taped Gumby costumes or the Florida costume that Homer Simpson put together for Lisa’s geography pageant. Other pieces make the models look like mummies who were mistakenly wrapped with couch cushions.
The one notable piece from the collection were the shoes, according to Footwear News. The site said Owens brought “dad sandals” to the fashion forefront. They look more like Birkenstocks that mated with a pair of Crocs.
