📅 3 years ago marked a life-changing moment…. On Saturday 13 February 13 2021 my world 🌍 was shaken when my husband suffered a heart attack 💔 at home I found myself paralysed 😱 uncertain of what steps to take Despite not having prior first aid training, my career in HR has always encouraged its importance to others 🫵 This month, I urge you to invest just 15 minutes of your day to learn CPR. All you need is your smartphone 📱 and a cushion to practice on CPR knowledge can be crucial if a heart attack leads to cardiac arrest Let's come together to protect the hearts of our loved ones ❤️ Join me in supporting the British Heart Foundation and Go Red for #HeartMonth Make those 15 minutes count 👉 https://lnkd.in/eStg9idd 📸 This photo is very special to me, as it was taken the day before that very fateful day.... #MakeADifference #WhatReallyMatters #FirstAid #FirstAidTraining #LifeIsTooShort
I know this first hand my mum died of a heart attack when I was 14
100% agree with you Rachel Collar - HR Rockstar🤘⭐️ If you can't dedicate the time for a full first aid course then this 15 minute guide on CPR will give a much better chance of recovery. It's only 15 minutes and it could save a life. thank you for posting Rachel Collar - HR Rockstar🤘⭐️ 👏
Thanks for sharing this Rachel 🥰 Very important message here! ❤️
Thank you for sharing Rachel, so many signs that need to be identified quickly and CPR given. People can even learn using their Alexa systems at home too, the more people that know how to do it, the more lives we can save. I hope your hubby is doing ok now lovely x
A really important message, Rachel. I did a CPR course and a children’s first aid a while ago - but I definitely need to update and refresh my memory.
This is so important. My training needs refreshing too. I've organised first aid training here, in Egypt with the Red Crescent Society - it matters wherever you are in the world. ❤️
Such an important post - thank you for sharing Rachel Collar - HR Rockstar🤘⭐️ ❤️

2moA very important post. Please also respond to signs (see GP) such as finding physical activity harder than it should be, discomfort (note not necessarily pain or ache) left arm, shoulder, neck, maybe or not chest. My husband had these whilst out cycling with me and it was a sign of severe heart vessel blockage requiring coronary heart bypass. If these signs had not been responded to then it is very likely he would have had a massive heart attack and would not have recovered due to the extensiveness and severity of blockages. He was fit, non smoker, not overweight, no underlying ill health conditions. 2 years on and he cycled Daventry to Paris last year (100+ miles every day 3 days).
