Lithuania must be an advocate of Western values in today's world with growing isolation tendencies, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite says.
"In today’s world, where isolation, nationalist and populist tendencies are intensifying, Lithuania must be a uniting force, a supporter of a strong multilateral system and an advocate of Western values," the president was quoted in a press statement, following a meeting with the foreign minister, ambassadors and consuls.
During the meeting, Grybauskaitė also called on diplomats to make a solid contribution to the strengthening and promotion of EU values and the European way of life.
