HGT gen II reg in Peugeot Jetforce

Today I received regulator from HGT. This is second (cheaper version) generation of regulator. I mounted trhe reg in 4 hours (lot if time I spent by developing of reg holder. Regulator is working pretty fine. I am attaching some pictures (taken using handy).

Idle fuel pressure is about 145 PSI, air pressure 75 PSI with an original ECU with 3-3-4 mapping (detailed SW ECU version in my signature). Only one thing must be changed: gap between spark plug and air-line fiting on the injection rail.

Many thanks to HGT for perfectly working reg.

The Sparkplug clearance is what we all have with the new Fuel Bowl Block-off... In fact, the Sparkplug boot that my dealer had put on as a replacement a few years back wouldn't go on.

It wasn't a big deal as I needed a new Sparkplug wire and boot anyway to work a touch better with my HGT Stretch Kit. I used a NGK boot (red of course ) and she fits and works great!

Thank you for advice, but I am using also NGK spark plug boot, I was trying to use red one, but there is no difference. Seems that peugeot engine head is slighly different than piaggio....

I am planning to go to my hydraulics buddy to try to find some solution. I will report result.

This is what I have for a fix for the spark plug clearance... I didn't know it was this close myself until someone told me after 18 were sent out. Then I installed one here on an 06 and saw for myself.

seems pretty good - for me possibly easier, becasue 90 degree reduction is production part - I was thinking about the same but build on request, what can be more expensive.

Yeasterday evening I was solving several leaks from regulator body (all possibly caused by needed dismantling of regulator - I need to turn both reg body parts to oposite orientation due to different mounting). Now there are no leaks on fuel or air circuit.

I have several findings, could you please say me if this is regular?

    - air presure stays after stopping engine for very long lime

    - fuel presure when the injection pump is not working falling to zero very quickly - in few secconds. Does not matter if it is after stopping engine or after pump priming.

    - air presure at idle could be higher than at 9000 rpm - probab,y something could be wrong, but I cannot identify what:
if I am opening throttle I can see
    1600 rpm (idle) - 75 PSI
    6000 rpm - 80 PSI
    9000 rpm - 70 PSI
    10800 rpm - 67 PSI
    and then backwars, clo
    sing throttle
    9000 rpm - 70 PSI
    7000 rpm - 85 PSI
6000 rpm - 90 PSI (this peak apperas for cca 2 sec)
    1600 rpm - 75 PSI

Engine is sputtering at around 6000 - 7000 rpm due to rich A/F, whe I try to decrease fuel pressure, than this sputtering is moving to lower rews, but after I will pass 6000 rpm then is fuel pressure low in high rews and is very difficult to start up cold engine. Cold engine is sputtering many times more, so reason is not lean mixure.

I was trying different spark plugs: CR7EKA 0.9mm and ZMR7AP 1.0mm (i was trying different gaps, but with these values are best results.

I think, that this could be caused by air-pressure, could you please confirm this?

    Yes

    - fuel presure when the injection pump is not working falling to zero very quickly - in few secconds. Does not matter if it is after stopping engine or after pump priming. Normal

Air pressure will vary by demand. A water trap slows this down a little but you are watching how air pressure reacts while running.

Has your ECU been derestricted? Have you ever tried a Malossi ECU?

I was trying different spark plugs: CR7EKA 0.9mm and ZMR7AP 1.0mm (i was trying different gaps, but with these values are best results.
ZMR7AP is the best for a rich mixture.

I think, that this could be caused by air-pressure, could you please confirm this?

ECU is derestricted, spark plug ZMR7AP is getting little bit worse results than CR7EKA (in past I was trying several other plugs, but these two are on top).

HGT> thank you for solution advice, I find quit perfect product to solve gap between pipe and spark. Have a look at FESTO 558819. I am attaching link to PDF cat with these fittings.

ive noticed this as well. i do better with the cr8eix. i know the mr7ap has been proven over the years, but is it possible that this is ideal for the morini and the PPJ has its own gem? I want to try the plug that malossi recomends for their ppj bbk

Nice... that is a very low profile. Is it 1/8" NPT?

YES this is G1/8 and is usable for your regulator, I was trying another one (little bit higher) and was working god, but I need bigger gap between spark plug and air fitting.... Today will come right one from Germany, so on evening I will fit it into the bike and send you picture.

I have one question to pipes you using:

I was trying to use hose market PA 6x1mm, size is good but your hose is more flexible. What material is type is your hose? PU? Who is producer?

Yeasterday i mount isolation hose over the air line between compressor and injection rail. It helps to prove condensate creation a little. I can recomend to do this. I used K-FLEX 6/10mm material (syntetic rubber foam hose, inner dia 10mm, 6mm wall), price less than 0.50 USD / m. This isolation is originaly used for air-conditioning systems.

thank you for information. This lines are unaviable here, so replaced with FESTO polyurethane lines. Working well. Gap between air line and spark solved.

Next will be installation of air filter FESTO MICRO (watter trap). After I¨ll assebly all together I will post an picture.
